You may have heard about the Internet Explorer security bug that was found just after Windows XP went off support.
Microsoft quickly announced a fix. And, in a show of customer goodwill, Microsoft announced that the fix works on Windows XP as well.
If you are still running Windows XP on your workstations you are taking unnecessary risks. For law firms, bar associations are discussing whether this is considered a breach of good practices. If you have a security incident related to Windows XP there could be other issues to be concerned about beyond the possible loss of data.
Whatever version of Windows you are running make sure you run windows update and get this Internet Explorer bug fixed immediately.
