Timeslips is a popular program desktop program for tracking time and expenses and generating bills. When out of the office there are multiple ways to capture time – you can track it manually or on a spreadsheet or in more automated ways.
Timeslips e-center which lets you capture your time anywhere you can login to the internet. The time entries are then downloaded into Timeslips by someone in the office. While E-center works well if requires that you are on a supported version of Timeslips, meaning you have to upgrade every two years. E-center is a web-based program, not an app, so you must have internet access to use it. In addition, once someone downloads the slips into the Timeslips program in the office they are no longer available for review in e-center.
Another alternative has been iSlips by BrainFreeze software. This app runs on an iPhone or Android and would run without internet access, but did require being back in the office to sync to Timeslips. Now BrainFreeze has released iSlips Online. Developer Steve Stasinos says “We made iSlips Online to provide time & expense tracking that is fast and simple and feels like a smart extension to Timeslips”.
iSlips Online is a stand-along, subscription based iOS application that allows you to take your key Timeslips data with you while on the go. iSlips works with Timeslips 2006 and higher and will sync with Timeslips as long as the sync is running on a computer in the office, you don’t need to stop in to sync. And, iSlips Online will show you unbilled time whether entered in the office or in iSlips.
