With the announcement of the soon to be released of Sage 50 2014 (formerly known as Peachtree), Sage has announced a significant change in support policy. Beginning with this version, Sage will only support the current version of the product. Products sold under the old policy will continue to be supported for the remainder of their 3 year period.
For those using connected services like payroll and credit card processing, this will mean a significant change in the need for upgrades.
Is this designed to get people use to the idea of frequent upgrades or annual payment? It seems that Sage wants to move people toward the subscription model and online programs and this may be a first step.
